Colin has practiced in a wide variety of personal injury work since 1981 with initial particular emphasis on motor vehicle claims but also experience in public liability claims (for Public Works Department and Mercantile Mutual Insurance), medical negligence, and workers compensation, for claimants and insurers.
Colin was a panel solicitor for GIO (later Suncorp) between 1988 and 2008, NZI in the 1990’s before the NRMA merger, and worked in house for GIO CTP claims in 2004 and 2005.
Colin has also successfully taken a claim (for a quadriplegic plaintiff) to the full bench of the High Court and had the law of negligence changed in Australia. (Imbree v McNeilly [2008] HCA 40).
As well as being a regular presenter of seminar papers at State Legal Conferences, Colin was selected by the MAA to address the Parliamentary Standing Committee at public hearings into the Motor Accidents Scheme in 2009.
