Douglas moved to Armidale in January 2000 realising the benefits of rural living, and made a commitment to making a life for himself in Armidale.
Doug completed his studies at the University of New England, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Computer Science and a Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honours. After completing his legal studies Doug has worked as a Solicitor in Armidale before joining the firm in Armidale in November 2005.
Doug has developed a thriving general practice with a focus on the areas of property and commercial business law. For more than five years he was the legal representative for the asset management arm of the rural financing company Landmark, until it was purchased by ANZ Bank in 2010. This has given Doug a solid background in property, banking and finance and rural issues law.
Doug is actively involved in both the Armidale and Tenterfield communities. He is the honorary solicitor for the Stienbrook Progress Association, the Tenterfield Social Development Committee and the Home and Community Care Group. He has also been a director of Armidale Golf Club for eight years and has been the President for the last three years.
