Gerard started his working life as a
consultant surveyor working with coal exploration companies and civil
engineering companies building mine and transport infrastructure.
In 1995 Gerard was admitted as a solicitor and has worked with a number of top tier law firms specialising in Property Law and Energy & Resources Law.
Gerard has since started his own law firm that specialises in the same legal practice areas and includes a dispute resolution and litigation team. He is also a Notary Public and a Fellow of The Australian and New Zealand College of Notaries.
Gerard’s recent involvement includes the following:
- Supervising project management support for a number of associated international mining companies for producing mine sites in Queensland
- Supervising project management support for a number of associated international mining companies concerning coal exploration sites in the Queensland
- Negotiating compensation with respect to mining infrastructure
- Acting for a number of mining companies in negotiations for acquisition of land.
Gerard has considerable experience project managing or advising on green and brownfield coal and gas mining operations, large property development projects, large scale land and business acquisitions and complex business restructure programmes for asset protection.
