Maureen Fanning practised as a Solicitor-Advocate for the Legal Aid Commission NSW, and in private practice as Principal Solicitor, Maureen Fanning & Associates. Called to the Bar in 2000, Maureen acts in Criminal Law proceedings in Local, District and Supreme Courts. Also, in the Children’s Court, representing juveniles and in Child Care proceedings. Appearances include bail applications, pleas, sentence hearings, defended hearings and trials, mental health proceedings. Also, Family Law proceedings, children and property.
Maureen is a Registered Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner with the A-G’s Dept (Cth); and has general mediation accreditation under NMAS (National Mediation Accreditation Standards). Maureen assists people to enter negotiation to resolve disputes and avoid ongoing conflict. The goal is to avoid legal and court costs and encourage people to “work it out” between each other.
