Assault with intent to rape

The charge of Assault with intent to rape is heard in the County Court.

The maximum penalty is 10 years imprisonment.

In proving the charge the Prosecution will have to show

 

1.  that a person intends to commit an offence

2   that the offence would have necessarily involved an intention to rape.
