NSW: Free safety information for businesses during June

NSW Finance Minister Joe Tripodi said a series of free workshops will be held during June to assist businesses with occupational health and safety and workers compensation responsibilities.

In a statement dated 21 May 2009, Mr Tripodi said that as part of Manual Handling Month, the workshop series will focus on how to reduce the incidence of injuries in the workplace.

"WorkCover will hold 20 workshops across metropolitan and regional New South Wales to help businesses improve safety and reduce the risk of manual handling injuries," Mr Tripodi said.

"The workshops will provide practical advice so employers can develop ways to manage risks and implement safe work plans and also have a better understanding of their workers compensation and return to work obligations," he said.
