Some people may be familiar with the somewhat well known maxim relating to equity of ‘a person who seeks equity must do equity’: But what does that exactly mean? Equity is a difficult area of law and can encompass any number of equitable interests in property, and because of the complexity of the area, engaging in the services of a legal practitioner who is experienced in equity is a must, especially in circumstances where an equitable interest has arisen in regards to a trust.
