Resisting Arrest

If you are under arrest by the police, you have certain rights available to you depending on the nature of the offence for which you are being detained. It’s important to be aware that you are generally afforded the right to silence; however, you may still need to comply with certain requests issued by a police officer.

Remember, if you have been arrested and are being questioned by the police you are able to request a lawyer to attend a police station on your behalf and by using the FindLaw Directory, you will be able to contact a lawyer who can help in regards to any matter you may be facing if you have been arrested.
