Learn about: Compensation Law

There is a complex body of law which allows persons who have suffered harm to themselves through the fault of another party to claim compensation for the loss or damages they have suffered.

The law varies throughout Australia. Some States, notably New South Wales and Queensland, restrict the advertising of legal services in relation to the recovery of compensation.

Because of the variety and complexity of this area of law, and the restraints on advertising, we do not offer guidance on the action you might need to take or the particular services available.

Some law firms may include practitioners who are specialists in a particular area of law, accredited by their professional association (for example a law society).

If you wish to know more you should pursue an enquiry directly with a law firm of your choice.
