John Brennan was one of the most experienced family lawyers in Sydney. He was one of the first NSW Solicitors appointed as a separate representative for children under the Family Law Act.
He is the Foundation Chairperson of the Family Law Advisory Committee to the Specialist Accreditation Board and has been a member of the Law Society Family Law Committee for many years. He is a member of the Legal Services Division of the Administrative Decision Tribunal and has served previously on the Legal Profession Disciplinary Tribunal.

Background
John studied law at the University of Sydney and was admitted to practise as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of NSW and High Court of Australia in 1961. He started his own practise in 1978 and was joined by his wife in 1985.
John joined Watts McCray as a consultant in 1998.
Interests
John's interests include cricket, Australian Rules football, history and travelling. He also enjoys organising reunions of school and university friends and law conferences.
